  1. Both links do not seem to be working. Can you please upload to a different file host. Thanks.

  4. Rob,

just found this post... looks cool... however, BIG question for me is... can I use speech recognition/control to initiate a phone call handsfree over bluetooth headset whilst in the car... as I can on any std old phone with voice tags?

  6. Hi,

Just got my Desire today, really like it, though i seem to have 1 slight issue. I've linked it up with my Facebook, however it does not seem to show the status updates when i go to phone book/contacts like it shows it does on certain pictures i've seen. People's profile pictures are showing, just not their lastest updates. any thoughts?

  7. Hi Guys!

If you follow the second link it shows you how to add speech to the keyboard, which means it works in any app.

As far as I know you can't use speech to actually control the phone.

You can't use the speech feature off-line.

As for Facebook, I'd check to see that you're synching in the settings menu. (Home, menu, settings).

    Cheers, Rob.

  8. Hi Rob,

Great blog, really interesting overview of the available apps and things. :D thanks

I installed the voice recognition component and the hi res keyboard from mediafire by following your links. However when I came to create a new message i found that the voice input microphone button didn't appear, it was the same keyboard as before.

I found out from reading a few forums that once you've installed the two items you need to then go into the create message area and long press on the "compose message" box where you'd normally see your text appear... A dialogue box pops up saying edit text and gives you an input method option. pressing this gives you the option to select HTC_IME mod. This will enable the Hi res keyboard, including voice input button for any application...

Hope this clears up any issues people are having!
